"We believe that we will achieve a very high economic income this year in both dried and fresh apricot exports." Apricot harvesting continues in Malatya, which is known as the "World Apricot Capital" with Türkiye's registration with the European Union (EU). Malatya Trade Exchange (MTB) President Ramazan Özcan visited producers harvesting apricots in Meydancık Neighborhood of Kale district. Özcan told journalists that intensive efforts are being made to overcome the negative effects of the agricultural frost that occurred in April 2025. Reminding that the apricot harvest started a few days ago, Özcan said, "We are very happy. Currently, in Meydancık Neighborhood of Kale district in Malatya, our producers, their colleagues, and our exporters are working diligently. The products transported from here to factories and businesses are also being prepared for export there." Özcan said that they are now exporting fresh apricots to all corners of the world with cold chain. Özcan stated that they hope to harvest in every region this year, adding that the dried apricot harvest will be completed soon and they will start dried apricot exports in August. He said, "We believe that we will achieve a very high economic income this year in both dried and fresh apricot exports."
