TMO ANNOUNCES GRAIN PURCHASE AND SALE PRICES FOR 2026.
The General Directorate of the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) announced the grain purchase prices as follows: 16,500 Turkish Lira per ton for durum and bread wheat, and 12,750 Turkish Lira per ton for barley.
The TMO's statement publicly announced the grain purchase and sale prices for 2026.
The statement emphasized that the grain harvest in Türkiye has been delayed compared to last year due to rainfall, and that it has already begun in certain regions. It further stated: "In order to provide storage opportunities for our producers who have harvested their crops, the TMO has started accepting wheat and barley products registered in the Farmer Registration System from May 21st onwards, against commitment agreements. The 2026 TMO grain purchase prices (for Group 2 products) have been determined as 16,500 Turkish Lira per ton for durum wheat, 16,500 Turkish Lira per ton for bread wheat, and 12,750 Turkish Lira per ton for barley."
The statement announced that the Ministry will pay producers a total of 980 Turkish Lira per decare as support for basic, planned production and certified seed use, and that, taking into account the average yield in the country, this corresponds to a total support payment of 3,014 Turkish Lira per ton.
Thus, with these supports, producers will receive 19,514 Turkish Lira per ton for bread and durum wheat and 15,764 Turkish Lira per ton for barley. The statement added that payments will be made to producers' bank accounts within 45 days of product delivery.
TMO GRAIN SALES TO BEGIN ON OCTOBER 1st
The statement emphasized that TMO (Turkish Grain Board) will begin grain sales on October 1st, and included the following:
"The price has been set at 18,500 Turkish Lira per ton for Group 2 durum wheat, 18,500 Turkish Lira for Group 2 bread wheat, and 14,000 Turkish Lira for Group 2 barley.
We wish all our producers a successful and bountiful harvest season."
