MTB PRESIDENT RAMAZAN ÖZCAN'S MARCH 18TH MESSAGE

Stating that the Çanakkale Victory was not only a military success but also a unique turning point in which our nation declared its will to exist on the stage of history to the whole world, President Özcan noted the following in his message:

“111 years ago, our glorious ancestors, united with their faith and superior courage, waged a struggle that set an example for the whole world against the enemy who united around treacherous ambitions on our beloved homeland and attacked with the most advanced weapons of the time.
This victory is the name of a belief that did not waver even in the face of deprivation, and a will that wrote the words ‘Çanakkale is Impenetrable’ in golden letters in history. On that day, heroes from all corners of Anatolia united around the same goal, the same faith, and the same ideal, defended the homeland at the cost of their lives, and showed the whole world that a nation can never be enslaved.

This epic, written under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, is not only a victory; it is also a historical manifesto that reveals the character, resistance, and love of independence of our nation. What was demonstrated in Çanakkale..." Self-sacrifice, courage, and high spirit are among the strongest legacies that illuminate our path today. If we live freely in our heavenly homeland under our star-and-crescent flag today, we owe it to our revered ancestors who paid the ultimate price with their lives. What we must do now is to protect our unity and solidarity more than ever in the face of the wars and chaos in our region and the world in recent times. Our greatest strength is our unity, brotherhood, and devotion to our homeland. With the inspiration and strength we receive from our glorious ancestors, whose history is full of heroism, there is nothing we cannot overcome.
In this context, we will continue to do everything in our power to contribute to the future of our country, which is a bastion of stability in the region, to protect our country by prioritizing our homeland, and to work on every front for a strong future. The spirit of Çanakkale is in our blood, and this spirit will continue to live on from generation to generation through countless acts of heroism.

With these feelings and thoughts, on the 111th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory, I commemorate with respect, mercy, and gratitude all our martyrs and veterans, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who made Çanakkale impassable and enabled us to live freely under our glorious flag.”
