FRESH APRICOTS HARVESTED IN MALATYA ARE BEING EXPORTED.

Apricots are exported to markets including European countries, Singapore, Canada, and the Far East, after quality control and packaging processes.

The export of fresh apricots harvested in Malatya continues.
Apricots collected from the orchards are brought to processing plants and subjected to tests to ensure they meet quality standards. Packaged according to the demands of the purchasing companies, the products are shipped via cold chain to European countries, Singapore, Canada, and various Far Eastern countries.

Malatya Chamber of Commerce President Ramazan Özcan met with members of the press at a fresh apricot exporting facility in Akçadağ district.

Stating that intensive work is carried out at every stage of the production chain from field to table, Özcan said, "Our products, which arrive here with very diligent work, are packaged according to the demands of the purchasing companies and then exported from here via cold chain to all corners of the world."

FRESH APRICOT EXPORT SEASON TO LAST 50 DAYS
Stating that they expect the fresh apricot export season to last approximately 50 days, Özcan said that Malatya has an annual fresh apricot production capacity of 800,000 tons with nearly 10 million apricot trees in an area of ​​approximately 1 million decares.

Özcan stated that Malatya accounts for approximately 20 percent of the world's fresh apricot production and 70 percent of its dried apricot production, noting that exports make a significant contribution to the city's economy.
Business owner Mahmut Bak explained that the apricots brought to the facility after the harvest are rested in cold storage for one day, then sorted and packaged.
Bak stated that they export fresh apricots mainly to European countries, as well as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, and that shipments continue uninterrupted throughout the season.
