Ramazan Özcan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Malatya Commodity Exchange, made the following statement regarding the fair: “The YÖREX Fair is of great importance in terms of promoting the rich variety of regional products and geographically indicated values of our country. The soil of Malatya not only grows products; it nourishes a culture, a civilization, and a way of life. Every product that emerges from these lands is the result of labor and accumulation carried from the past to the present. Geographical indications are a strategic tool that protects the producer's labor, increases the added value of the product, and supports local development. We see each registration as a seal imprinted on the memory of this city. These efforts are not only a cultural gain; they are also a strategic step that protects the producer, strengthens the local economy, and increases the brand value of the city. We will continue our work with the same determination to protect the values that these lands offer us and to pass them on to future generations.” At the stand opened by Battal Çelik, a member of our exchange, at YÖREX, President Özcan distributed Malatya apricots, which have an EU Geographical Indication Registration Certificate prepared by our exchange, to the citizens visiting the stand.
