PRESIDENT ÖZCAN SAID, "MAY 19TH IS THE FIRST STEP OF THE TURKISH NATION'S MARCH TOWARDS INDEPENDENCE AND THE FUTURE."

Ramazan Özcan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Malatya Commodity Exchange, stated in his message published on the occasion of the May 19th Atatürk Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day that May 19, 1919, was a historical turning point in which the Turkish nation declared its will for independence to the whole world.

President Özcan included the following statements in his message:
"May 19, 1919, is one of the most important steps our nation took on the path to independence, the beginning of the process leading to the establishment of our Republic. The torch of independence lit by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in Samsun spread throughout Anatolia in a short time with the determination, resolve, and love of homeland of our nation, and our War of Independence ended in victory. The fact that the Great Leader Atatürk gifted this meaningful day to our youth is the strongest indication of the trust and value he placed on youth. Addressing the youth with the words, 'O rising new generation, the future is yours,' Atatürk entrusted the future of our Republic to our youth.
Because the construction of a strong Turkey is possible with young generations who think, produce, research, are committed to national values, and can correctly interpret the necessities of the age. Today, our youth are giving hope to the future of our country with the successes they have achieved in science, technology, production, entrepreneurship, art, and sports. The strong future of Türkiye rests on the shoulders of hardworking and productive young people who are proficient in the requirements of the age and committed to national and spiritual values." We believe it will rise. Our duty is to strengthen the environments that will contribute to the education, technological skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and productive power of our youth. The energy and vision of our youth will be our greatest strength in the economic development, sustainable growth, and increased global competitiveness of our country.

With these feelings and thoughts, I commemorate all our martyrs and veterans, especially the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms, with mercy, gratitude, and appreciation; and I sincerely congratulate our nation and our youth on the 19th of May Atatürk Commemoration, Youth and Sports Day.”
