Interest-free loan to SMEs in Malatya, which was damaged by the earthquake

KOSGEB President Prof. Dr. Cevahir Uzkurt told Anadolu Agency (AA) that they will extend interest-free loans with an upper limit of 100 thousand liras to SMEs, especially in Malatya and Elazig, which were damaged by the earthquake.
Uzkurt stated that they will share these lists with them after the determination of those who were damaged by the earthquake by the governorship and district governorships, and continued as follows:

"We will also share this list with the banks. Our related companies and SMEs will have a 1-year grace period after using 100 thousand lira. Following this grace period, they will pay this principal amount in quarterly installments within 2 years, and we, as KOSGEB, will cover the entire interest. "We can define this as an interest-free loan with a total maturity of 36 months. We are planning to make a protocol with the Guarantee Fund for our SMEs that have difficulty in collateral. We will pave the way for supplying collateral from there."

"We Have No Budget Limits, No Limits"
Uzkurt stated that the number of SMEs that will benefit from the "Emergency Support Loan Program" will be clarified after the damage assessment is made by the governorates, and said:

"We will not have any budget limits or constraints. No matter how much our company has been damaged by the earthquake, we are in a position to make all these companies use this loan. Again, as KOSGEB, we have postponed the debts of our SMEs, which have received project support from KOSGEB before and whose repayment is due, until 2021. Similarly, we are deferring the debts of our companies, which have taken a loan from a bank by benefiting from KOSGEB's loan interest programs, and whose repayments have come due, to these banks until 2021."

"Credit Directly from Bank Branches"
Uzkurt stated that they will provide convenience to SMEs in the use of credit, and said:

"Without the need for our citizens to prepare any documents and files for loan disbursement, they will go directly to the relevant bank branches and use these loans without causing a situation that requires them to come to any of our KOSGEB Directorates. We will announce which banks will participate in these loan programs soon. "We wrote. SMEs will be able to use these loans by going directly to bank branches. We want our SMEs, who suffered from the earthquake in a short time, to benefit from this loan as easily as possible, without allowing any documents, bureaucracy, and intermediary as much as possible."

Explaining that according to the records of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), there are more than 30 thousand companies in Elazig and more than 20 thousand in Malatya, Uzkurt said, "Which of these companies are damaged, all of them will be within the scope of this program, provided that they are SMEs. Therefore, the only criterion here is the official statement of damage from the earthquake. It is enough for us that it has been determined by the authorities, by the governorship." he said.
