In the letter of the General Directorate of Imports of the Ministry of Commerce, submitted by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, it was reported that violations caused by "Acidovorax citrulli", which is a quarantine agent for our country, were detected in the phytosanitary and quarantine controls carried out on watermelon seeds imported to our country from the Syrian Arab Republic. In this context, it has been stated that the entry of watermelons and watermelon seeds into our country from the Syrian Arab Republic is prohibited until further notice, except for shipments made with Phytosanitary Certificates issued before 01.05.2026.
